How this started.
In Beitar, a yungerman would get married wanting to stay in learning, and his father would go from Rosh Kollel to Rosh Kollel asking for a seat. Every one of them wanted to say yes. As the organization tells its own story, the answer was the same in one beis medrash after another: “we cannot, we simply do not have the budget.”
Kollel Partners began by closing those budgets. Not by building institutions from scratch, but by paying the last piece that let an existing kollel say yes. The problem was never a shortage of yungerleit who want to learn, or of Roshei Kollelim willing to take them. It is the last part of a budget that is already mostly funded.
The first budgets were completed in Beitar. The batei midrashim filled, and the model moved city by city, the same way each time: find the kollelim, vet them, fund the final slice. Today the roster holds 41 kollelim in Beitar Illit alone, and 86 kollelim with 1,380 avreichim across 10 cities.
Why accountability became the pillar.
This program spends other people's maaser money. That is the whole reason it runs the way it runs: our portion goes directly into each yungerman's bank account, never into a general fund. The full roster is published on this site, and the totals are sums anyone can check. There is no development office and no fundraiser on staff, and no kavod in it for anyone, us included.
But a register is only as good as the person who checks the rooms. So the rooms get checked. In person. Constantly.
The flights do not stop.
The roster is not managed from Brooklyn. Our team travels to Eretz Yisroel constantly, taking time away from their own businesses, because the only way to know a kollel is to stand in it.
Every Rosh Kollel, face to face.
Before a kollel joins the roster there is a conversation that happens in person: the budget line by line, the sedorim, the yungerleit waiting for a seat. Not a form. A table.
The surprise visit is the standard.
We show up without warning, check attendance, and sit in the beis medrash to see the learning with our own eyes. More than 50 kollelim were personally re-vetted this summer alone. A kollel on this roster is a kollel someone has stood inside.
Then it becomes the register.
What gets written down in those rooms becomes the roster on this site: every kollel named, every count a sum, every dollar of our share paid directly to a yungerman's own bank account.
One stipend, three sources.
A yungerman's monthly stipend is assembled from three sources. The government and Keren Olam HaTorah provide the first portion. The Rosh Kollel raises the next portion himself. What remains, up to 25% of the kollel's budget, is the part that decides how many seats exist. That final portion is what we fund.

The last piece has leverage the other pieces do not. If we fully supported yungerleit ourselves, our money would carry ten of them. Because the first two portions already exist, the same money lets a Rosh Kollel accept forty. We are not building kollelim from scratch. We are completing budgets that are nearly whole.
Our share works out to about $1,000 per additional yungerman for a year. Read that figure carefully. It is our portion of the funding, not what the yungerman receives. His stipend is larger, and the other two sources carry most of it. About $1,000 of this program's money is what makes his seat exist at all.
Four controls on every dollar.
Paid directly.
Our portion goes into each yungerman's own bank account. Never into a general fund, never through an intermediary. We know exactly whom we are supporting, by name, every month.
Only a seat that was not there.
Funding goes to yungerleit who did not have a kollel the previous zman. That rule keeps every dollar marginal. We are not replacing support that already existed, we are adding a seat.
Vetted unannounced.
We show up without warning, check attendance, and sit in the beis medrash ourselves. More than 50 kollelim were personally re-vetted in summer 2026 alone. What we fund is what we have seen.
Published in full.
Every funded kollel is on this site, named, with its city and its avreichim count. The totals are sums over the roster, recomputed on every publish. You can audit us from your kitchen table.
Questions donors ask.
How do I know the money actually arrives?
Because it does not pass through anyone's hands on the way. Our portion is paid directly into each yungerman's own bank account. Then we check the other end in person, unannounced, in the beis medrash.
How is this different from Keren Olam HaTorah?
They are complementary. Keren Olam HaTorah and the government provide the first portion of a yungerman's stipend. Nobody was covering the final part of the kollel's own budget, the part that sets how many seats exist. That final part is this entire program.
Does the money go to the kollel or to the yungerman?
To the yungerman. We commit to the Rosh Kollel so he can accept more yungerleit, and the payment itself lands in each yungerman's own bank account.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
You receive a receipt for every donation, and the receiving entity's details come with it. If you or your accountant want the paperwork before you give, email info at kollelpartners dot org or call 646-319-6138 and we will send it.
Can I give toward a specific city?
Yes. The roster lists every city we fund. Each city's section carries its own sponsorship link, and the gift is attributed to that city.
Can my business be the partner?
Yes. Many partners give in their business's name, a monthly commitment that makes the business itself the supporter of the learning. Start at the partnership page or call us.
What happens if I need to stop?
You stop. Pause, adjust, or cancel whenever you need to, and nothing happens beyond that. A number you can keep is worth more to the program than a number you resent.
