When Moshe Rabbeinu blessed the shevatim, he blessed Zevulun before Yissachar, though Yissachar was the older brother:
שְׂמַח זְבוּלֻן בְּצֵאתֶךָ וְיִשָּׂשכָר בְּאֹהָלֶיךָ
“Rejoice, Zevulun, in your going out, and Yissachar, in your tents.”
Rashi explains the order. Zevulun went out to sea and traded, and put bread in Yissachar’s mouth while Yissachar sat and learned. Yissachar’s Torah came through Zevulun, so Zevulun is named first. The Rema brings it into halacha: a person who supports the learning of others is counted as if he learned himself.
In this partnership your business is Zevulun. It goes out and trades, the yungeleit it carries sit and learn, and their learning is counted to it as well.

- How it pays
- The business's card, its bank account (ACH), or a wallet. Charged once a month.
- Receipts
- Emailed with every charge, from Congregation Bais Shalom, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, EIN 46-4301263.
- Changes
- Raise it, lower it or stop it any time by email or phone.
- By check
- Checks from the business account to Congregation Bais Shalom, with "Kollel Partners" in the memo line.

Can the business pay?
Yes. Pay with the business's card or bank account, and put its name in the Business name field so the gift is recorded to the business.
Is it tax-deductible?
Gifts are received by Congregation Bais Shalom, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, EIN 46-4301263, and a receipt is emailed with every charge. How the business books it is a question for your accountant.
Is the business's name made public?
Only if you want it to be. The name is on its gifts and its receipts. If you would like the business shown with the other partners on this site, write to us.
Can we change the amount or stop?
Any time. Write to info@kollelpartners.org or call 646-319-6138, and we will change it or stop it for you.
Why monthly?
A Rosh Kollel can only accept another yungerman when he knows the money will be there all zman. Monthly partners are the money he can count on.
