Kollel Partners 86 kollelim across Eretz Yisroel
Become a
partner in Torah.
Kollel Partners helps cover the kollel's budget, the piece that decides whether a Rosh Kollel can take one more yungerman or must turn him away. In 86 kollelim across Eretz Yisroel, 1,380 yungeleit learn a full day because that piece was paid. A gift of any size makes you a partner in their learning.
- 86
- kollelim, every one named
- 1,380
- yungeleit on the roster
- $1,000
- keeps one more yungerman learning for a year
Four ways to give.
Every way leads into the same beis medrash. Pick the one that fits how you give.
Business partnership
A monthly commitment in your business's name, making the business itself a partner in the learning it sustains.
A single gift
One gift, any size. About $1,000 of our funding keeps one additional yungerman in kollel for a year.
Sponsor a kollel
Carry one kollel's whole annual share, computed from its roster. One name on the register, entirely yours.
What you are giving to.
Who we are
Kollel Partners began in Beitar with one observation: a Rosh Kollel with a full beis medrash still turns yungeleit away, because the last piece of his budget is missing. We pay that piece, and only that piece.
Who it is for
Yungeleit in 10 cities, from Beitar Illit to Bnei Brak, who learn a full day and support a family on a stipend. Funding goes to a yungerman who did not have a kollel the previous zman, so every yungerman we fund is one more who is learning.
What your gift does
About $1,000 of our funding keeps one additional yungerman in kollel for a year. That is the part we cover, not what he receives, and it is paid directly into his own bank account. Any amount is a share in it.
How a yungerman's stipend is built.
One stipend, three sources. The first two exist with or without us. The third is the part that sets how many yungeleit a kollel can hold.
A representative stipend, drawn to scale. Tap a portion to read about it.
First portion
The state and Keren Olam HaTorah
Paid to the yungerman as an individual. About 42% of a typical budget. It exists with or without us.
Second portion
The Rosh Kollel raises it
His own donors, his own time, about a third of the budget. It stays his, and that is part of the accountability.
The final piece
Kollel Partners. This is where we step in.
Up to 25% of the budget, on the kollelim where the gap is widest. It is the part that decides whether the next yungerman is accepted. About $1,000 per yungerman for a year.
That is why the leverage is what it is. Money that would fully support ten yungeleit, paid as the final piece, lets a Rosh Kollel accept forty.
Four things that make it reliable.
Paid directly.
Our funding goes into each yungerman's own bank account. Never into a general fund, never through an intermediary.
Only a yungerman who had no kollel.
Funding goes to yungeleit who did not have a kollel the previous zman. Every dollar is marginal.
Vetted unannounced.
We show up without warning, check attendance, and sit in the beis medrash ourselves.
Published in full.
Every funded kollel is on this site, named, with its city and its count. The totals are sums over the roster.
The roster is the proof.
All 86 kollelim on the register, every one visited in person. The bar is each kollel's annual share, yungeleit times $1,000.
Endorsed in writing.
The Gedolim who put their names to this work did so in writing. Their words, as they gave them.

Questions donors ask.
Is my gift tax-deductible?
Yes. Gifts are received by Congregation Bais Shalom, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, EIN 46-4301263. A receipt is emailed the moment the gift goes through.
Where exactly does the money go?
Into a yungerman's own bank account, as part of his kollel's budget. Never into a general fund and never through an intermediary. We know exactly whom it reached.
How is this different from Keren Olam HaTorah?
They are complementary. Keren Olam HaTorah and the government provide the first portion of a stipend. Nobody was covering the final part of the kollel's own budget, the part that sets how many yungeleit a kollel can take. That final part is this entire program.
Can I sponsor one specific kollel?
Yes. Every kollel on the roster has a computed annual share, and a whole share can be carried by one donor. The sponsor page lists them by city, and a sponsored kollel is marked as taken.
Is this a one-time gift or monthly?
Either. The box offers both. Many people take on a monthly amount as a kabbalah for the year; a dollar a day is the most common one, billed as $30 a month.
Can I give by check, or in someone's honor?
Checks go to Congregation Bais Shalom, 333 Stanley Ave., Brooklyn, NY 11207, with "Kollel Partners" in the memo line. For a dedication, write to us and we will note it on the gift.
